Rainwater harvesting

One of the main miss-conceptions with rain water harvesting systems is that as they supply toilets, sprinkler systems and outside taps they are not really a risk to human health. Unfortunately a miss managed or poorly installed rain water harvesting system can be a real problem with regards to water hygiene and therefore human health.

Unfortunately the lack of knowledge or referencing to the current British standards and Water Regulations at installation time is very common and becomes problematic after the contractors have moved on. The risk of Legionella bacteria along with other waterborne pathogens developing in the system and contamination though linkage to potable water supplies increases dramatically when the system hasn’t been designed, installed or managed correctly in line with BS 8515:2009 and Water Regulations.

Ongoing maintenance and servicing

We can carry out ongoing maintenance on Rainwater Harvesting Systems to the standards specified oin BS8515 or to the customers’ own method statements.
